MISSION
Our goal at Savon's Academy is to involve young athletes in basketball programs at both a recreational and/or competitive levels. Using our "fundamentals first" philosophy we have created a safe, positive environment for athletes of all ages.
We believe sports programs help create a competitive learning environment in which many psychologists consider a vital link to providing children with some of the skills necessary to be successful in all areas in life.
Savon's Academy is dedicated to educate and motivate each member through "fundamentals first" and the spirit of sports. The emphasis of our program is to provide opportunities that encourage the pursuit of lifetime activities, a sense of commitment and the development of personal character for children that otherwise might not have a chance to grow to their fullest potential.
OBJECTIVES
At Savon's Academy we begin with the basics and then move on through advanced skills. Our coaching and instructions takes place in small groups to ensure that each child gets the individual attention they need to reach their maximum potential (5-1 ratio). Our program is built to encourage both team and personal growth in a positive fun atmosphere.
We will offer instructional clinics to prepare the children in Royal Palm Beach to understand and play the game, giving them the skills they need to be better players at the Recreational level, Travel level and school teams. Our goal is to incorporate a travel program at every age level to give the children of Royal Palm the experience they need to succeed as athletes while teaching them the meaning of commitment and team.
Meet Savon SmithThe founder Dale Smith attended Spring Valley High School in New York. He was a member of the school’s basketball team from 1989-1992. He was inspired by his coached Willlie Worsley about whom the movie “Glory Road” was based upon.
From Coach Worsley Dale Smith has adapted the principle that hard works pays off and that team work is an essential part of being a leader. Through Dale at Savon’s Academy we believe that our main mission is to help children to become leaders as well as team player’s which is our number one priority”.
